We live in a world where multi-tasking is a must. We live in a world where our work gets the highest priority in our lives, which is why we now live in a world of lifestyle disorders. Ever come across this? You sure will in upcoming years. Lifestyle disorders include many factors like Stress, Obesity, Hypertension, Diabetes and many types of psychological disorders.

But instead of discussing lifestyle disorders in detail, let’s discuss all the factors that’ll keep us away from all kinds of lifestyle disorders. Here you go!

A healthy lifestyle should be a ‘way of living’ and not just a temporary fix to nullify the effects of illness or sickness. We live in a fast-paced world where not many of us have time to keep healthy or stay fit. But once you get into the habit of maintaining a healthy routine, you will be able to see, perceive and experience the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. For a layman, health is solely an absence of sickness and ailments. This view is very narrow and one-sided. The term ‘health’ is much more comprehensive. A good health is a state of all-round physical, social, mental and spiritual well-being of a person. Being active offers benefits beyond an improved physique and a healthy body. Health and fitness are crucial aspects of someone’s lifestyle and have the power to alter a person’s life in substantial ways. Fitness is one of the first steps you can take to live a healthy lifestyle. You don’t have to be a fitness freak to be healthy; you just have to partake in a small amount of physical exercise every day to maintain a sound level of fitness. It could be as simple as walking for 40 minutes.

Physical fitness is imperative for a healthy life. Physical fitness includes diet, exercise and sleep. Diet is the kind of food we choose to consume. As our life depends upon it, we must know what to eat, how much to eat and when to eat. Therefore, one should “eat to live and not live to eat”. You don’t have to starve yourself to death in order to be fit and lose weight. It’s more about eating the right foods.

Being fit and nourished is not as hard as you think. Changing a few simple things will do you a world of good; small changes can make a big difference. Many people have the ability of eating whatever they want and not gaining a single pound. However, what these people may not realize is that all the bad food they are ingesting right now will surely catch up with them in their later years of life, and maybe setting them up with many health problems (lifestyle disorders) down the road. It’s important you have a variety of different, nourishing food items so your body has a healthy, balanced diet. Maintaining a healthy diet not only offers your body the energy and nutrition it needs to function but also offers many health benefits that can help you live longer and have a better life. “A sound mind in a sound body” is absolutely true and you will experience it with some small steps!

Obviously what works for everybody else, may not necessarily work for you. If you want to get the optimum level of health and fitness for your body, you should consult a dietitian or nutritionist who will tell you explicitly & precisely what you should be eating, and what you should be cutting down on.

All you need to do is find a way that works for you. Sustaining a healthy diet is not the only thing to keep in mind, being physically active is equally important. Another thing that many people are not aware of is the MOOD SWINGS that come from unhealthy eating. Diets that do not include all the nutrients in right proportion can lead people to develop severe mood swings. The effects that unhealthy eating and a lack of exercise have on your body can be negatively life-changing and detrimental. This is why it is extremely important to have a balance between the two so you can avoid all the consequences of an unhealthy lifestyle. Balance is the key. To have a healthy life, one must have a balance between eating healthy and exercising. However, treating yourself once in awhile is not wrong at all! ;)

The moral is that everything needs to be done in moderation. Life should not be taken for granted because without life, you are nothing. Be conscious about the decisions in life now, so your body does not have to pay for them later. Thus a balanced diet, regular exercise, sound sleep and some meditation are the prerequisites for complete health and fitness, and this in turn is the key to a productive and successful life. Nutrition and fitness are essential for a healthy living.

Not only will you look and feel good, but by eating the right things and doing the right amount of exercise, you could also lower your chances of getting some serious life-threatening diseases. Finally it’s your decision, whether you want healthy living or not. But be aware that it is not difficult at all and you sure can do it. Yes, YOU CAN DO IT!
